Monthly VAT close
“Close the month’s VAT” on the VAT return, re-close, and mark the return as filed. VAT credit carries forward automatically.
The VAT return page now has a Mbyll TVSH-në e muajit (close the month’s VAT) button. With it you close the month once the figures are checked, reopen it with Rimbyll (re-close) when a correction is needed, and mark it Deklarata e dorëzuar (return filed) once the return has been submitted to ATK. The change is for accountants who prepare the return every month and for owners who want to know exactly where the month’s VAT stands.
At the end of the month, you open the VAT return and check the totals. When you are satisfied, you press Mbyll TVSH-në e muajit and the month is marked as closed. If you later find a forgotten invoice or a mistake, you use Rimbyll to close it again with the corrected figures. After you submit the return, you mark it as filed. Any remaining VAT credit is carried into the next month as Kredia e TVSH-së e bartur.
Without a clear close, it is easy for a late document to change the figures of a month that has already been declared, and the difference only shows up later. With closed and filed statuses, everyone on the team can see where each month stands. Carrying the credit forward no longer needs a manual calculation from month to month, which saves time and lowers the risk of errors in the returns that follow.
Would you like to see the VAT close step by step, using a sample month? Ask us for a demo and we will walk through it together, from checking the figures to marking the return as filed. If you are an accountant with several clients, tell us how you organise the work today and we will show you where this feature fits into that routine.
